The article examines visual support strategies for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in inclusive classroom settings. Based on a review of the scholarly literature, the types and functions of visual support are systematized, and their evidence-based effectiveness is assessed. The review shows that most existing studies have been conducted in specialized settings, while the use of visual support in mainstream schools, particularly in post-Soviet and Central Asian contexts, remains insufficiently explored. The findings indicate that the effectiveness of such strategies depends not only on the methodological tools themselves but also on staffing conditions, including the availability of tutor support and teachers’ professional readiness. In light of the identified gaps, the article proposes recommendations for adapting visual support to inclusive education in Uzbekistan, including prioritizing simple and low-cost forms of support, integrating visual tools into a comprehensive child support system, and developing practice-oriented professional development programs for teachers.
