Annotatsiya

This article presents a comparative-pragmatic analysis of epistemic caution and reliability markers in the responses of large language models in English and Uzbek. The study focuses on linguistic units that express probability, limitation, evidence, source attribution, temporal boundaries and the need for verification. Epistemic caution is interpreted as a pragmatic mechanism that prevents unjustified certainty, whereas reliability markers are viewed as metadiscursive devices indicating the degree of evidential support. The article proposes a bilingual analytical model based on speech act theory, the cooperative principle, epistemic modality, hedging and studies on artificial intelligence discourse.
