This study investigates the use of transformational strategies in the translation of English newspaper articles into Uzbek. The research examines lexical, grammatical, and stylistic transformations employed in the translation of journalistic texts published by British and Uzbek media outlets. A qualitative comparative analysis of selected news articles from BBC News, Reuters, The Guardian, Gazeta.uz, and Kun.uz was conducted. The findings reveal that concretization, modulation, descriptive translation, and transposition are the most frequently used strategies due to structural and cultural differences between English and Uzbek. The study demonstrates that transformational techniques play a significant role in achieving semantic equivalence, communicative effectiveness, and cultural appropriateness in newspaper translation.
