This article analyzes the mechanisms of speech transformation of occasional phraseological units found in Uzbek and English literary texts. It examines types of semantic change such as meaning expansion, narrowing, and metaphorical shift, as well as similarities in cross-cultural thinking. Contextual and comparative methods are employed, with examples taken from the works of Hemingway, Dickens, Hardy, and Uzbek writers. The study highlights the creative use of phraseological units as a reflection of cultural and linguistic individuality.
