Annotatsiya

The article analyzes and compares the linguistic features of gender communication in Uzbek and Italian literature of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Based on Abdullah Qodiriy’s novel O‘tkan kunlar and Giovanni Verga’s works (La Lupa, Cavalleria Rusticana), the study examines male and female speech patterns as reflections of social and cultural perceptions of gender roles. The analysis reveals that in Uzbek literature female speech is characterized by restraint and a desire to preserve tradition, while in Italian literature it becomes a means of protest and self-assertion. In both cases, language serves as a mirror of social change and an indicator of the evolution of gender identity.
