The article examines, from a scientific and theoretical perspective, the role and significance of international assessment studies in improving the content of the national education system. It also analyzes the legal and regulatory foundations of international assessment programmes, their impact on the quality of education and curriculum content, as well as their potential in fostering core competencies among students.
