This article provides a legal analysis of the content, nature, and concept of collecting, verifying, and evaluating evidence in proof, as well as the theoretical foundations of the institution of proof. The author substantiates that work with evidence in the process of proving is carried out step by step: first, the collection of evidence by the investigation and the court, during which it is identified and formalized in accordance with procedural requirements; then its examination, in which compliance with truth and legality is assessed; and finally, its legal evaluation and the formulation of conclusions on the case.
