This article investigates the role of the international BABIES (Birthweight and Age-at-Death Boxes for an Intervention and Evaluation System) and MOMS (Matrix of Mortality and Morbidity Surveillance) charts in reducing neonatal mortality and the risk of preterm birth in Fergana City. A retrospective analysis of maternity hospital data was conducted to evaluate neonatal and perinatal outcomes. The BABIES and MOMS tools enabled assessment of birth weight, gestational age, time of death, and maternal risk factors. The findings demonstrate that these monitoring systems are effective for identifying high-risk groups, evaluating the quality of perinatal care, and planning preventive interventions. Their implementation in routine healthcare practice may contribute to reducing neonatal mortality and complications associated with preterm birth.
