This article analyzes the content and essence of supported employment services in ensuring the employment of persons with disabilities. It argues that supported employment services, unlike ordinary job placement, quota-based employment measures, or vocational rehabilitation measures, constitute a comprehensive social and labor service aimed at providing individualized and continuous support to persons with disabilities in entering paid employment in the open labor market, adapting to the workplace, and maintaining employment. The article reveals the conceptual relationship between the supported employment model, or Supported Employment, job coaching, “supported job placement” (podderzhivaemoe trudoustroystvo), and “accompanied job placement,” or soprovozhdaemoe trudoustroystvo.
