This article analyzes the legal framework for the restoration of degraded forest areas in the Aral Sea region, existing problems, and organizational and legal mechanisms for their elimination. It also highlights the importance of forests in ensuring environmental security, the importance of forestry legislation in preventing desertification. The negative impact of the environmental crisis on ecological systems in the Aral Sea region, the content of current environmental and forest legislation, the implementation of international environmental standards into the national legal system, and institutional problems of environmental governance are highlighted. Scientific proposals are also developed on the digitalization of environmental monitoring, the development of public-private partnerships, and the strengthening of environmental responsibility institutions.
