This article analyzes the emergence and development of venture capital funds in the United States as a type of alternative investment fund. Venture investment funds are a relatively new legal phenomenon in the legislation of many countries and form one of the foundations of the U.S. economy. Venture financing has not only increased cash flows to businesses but has also contributed to the country’s innovative development. The article applies historical and legal analysis; the main events occurred in the 1970s and 1980s and were studied by American researchers in the 1990s. Their views may contribute to reforms aimed at developing venture financing in our country. The article is of theoretical and practical importance for lawyers, financiers, and researchers interested in venture investment.
