This article provides a comprehensive scientific analysis of the concept, essence, and content of globalization, as well as the main approaches to its interpretation. It examines the role of the nation-state in the process of globalization and the resulting changes in its functions and responsibilities under contemporary conditions. The study further explores theoretical perspectives on statehood and the establishment of liberal democracy. In addition, it investigates the similarities and contradictions among the views of hyperglobalists, "skeptics", proponents of "transformation theory", and critics of globalism.
