This article analyzes the factors, causes, and conditions that influenced the formation and development of the ancient Sogdian state. It also examines the state power and governing bodies of the Sogdian state, their system, powers, and interrelations. The article also discusses the information about the Sogdian statehood in the Avesta, the Sogdia’s relations with foreign countries, the role and powers of the ruler in the state power, the officials who implemented the state administration and their duties, the local government bodies of the Sogdia, and their place in the system of state bodies.
