This article examines the main theoretical approaches to humanistic and moral education of primary school children. The cultural-historical approach (L.S. Vygotsky, D.B. Elkonin, V.V. Davydov), the cognitive theories of J. Piaget and L. Kohlberg, humanistic psychology (C. Rogers, A. Maslow), pedagogical concepts of V.A. Sukhomlinsky and Sh.A. Amonashvili, as well as contemporary research on children's moral and humanistic development are analyzed. The article concludes that a comprehensive application of these theoretical approaches is necessary in modern primary education practice.
