This article examines the role and significance of the institution of service in the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the context of ensuring the rule of law and implementing comprehensive judicial and legal reforms. Particular attention is paid to the procedures for recruitment to the prosecutor’s bodies, the stages of competitive selection, requirements imposed on candidates, and the legal mechanisms for forming a professional and qualified personnel system. Based on the analysis of national legislation, law enforcement practice, international standards, and foreign experience, the author proposes a conceptual definition of service in the Prosecutor’s Office. The article substantiates the need to legislatively define the concepts of “prosecutor” and “candidate,” as well as to supplement the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the Prosecutor’s Office” with a special section regulating service in the prosecutor’s bodies. The conclusions of the study are aimed at improving the effectiveness of prosecutorial activities and strengthening guarantees for the protection of human rights and freedoms.
