The article examines how the law applicable to license agreements on the digital use of copyright works involving a foreign element is determined. Comparing Section VI of the Civil Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the Berne Convention, EU regulations and the CLIP Principles, the author identifies problems in separating the law governing the right from the law governing the contract, the freedom to choose the applicable law, the form of the contract and the determination of the initial right holder, and proposes amendments to the legislation.
