This article examines the nature and significance of gender equality in contemporary society, as well as the transformation of women’s social status and opportunities in education, the economy, politics, science, and the digital sphere, from a socio-philosophical perspective. Gender equality is conceptualized as a phenomenon intrinsically linked to human rights, social justice, individual freedom, and sustainable development. Alongside the expansion of women’s social participation, the article addresses key challenges, including unpaid care work, gender disparities in the labour market, the underrepresentation of women in leadership positions, gender stereotypes, and digital inequality.
