Prospects for Introducing and Developing International Educational Programs in Uzbekistan (Based on the Pearson BTEC Experience)

Annotatsiya

The article examines the modernization of the vocational education system in Uzbekistan based on international standards, in particular the introduction of BTEC programs in cooperation with the British organization Pearson. The study is based on Samarkand City Technical School No. 1 and analyzes the rationale for the chosen fields of study, exam-based admission, admission figures for the 2025–2026 and 2026–2027 academic years, features of the learning process, professional development of teaching staff, and students’ early outcomes. The number of groups grew from 4 to 5 and the number of students from 120 to 145; 6 students hold IELTS and CEFR certificates at levels B2 and C1, and all students who took part in the survey rated the program positively. The article outlines the advantages of awarding two diplomas (national and international) and proposes measures for improving the program.
