Annotatsiya

The concept of freedom of conscience evolved over centuries, gaining clearer expression during the French Revolution and subsequently in US law as a political and legal principle. However, it was not until the mid-twentieth century that freedom of conscience became established as a universal international legal norm. Its political dimension is reflected primarily in its regulation under international law.
