Corruption as a complex social phenomenon, which is characterized by mass character and a large area of distribution, has also penetrated into the education system. We can safely say that it is the education system that is one of the most corruption-prone areas, prone to this negative phenomenon due to the peculiarities of its activities, due to the existence in it of both vertical and horizontal relations between teachers and students and employees of the institution with its administration. Corruption in the field of education has all the features of the generic concept of corruption itself. However, in order to form systemic knowledge that could then be applied in practice for the timely prevention of corruption offenses, it seems necessary to identify a number of its characteristic features. Despite a significant number of works devoted to corruption in the field of education, the question of its characteristic features, forms, types and types remains open. In this article, the author tried to classify corruption in the field of education according to several criteria, and describe the importance of conducting this type of research.
