In recent years, advances in brain-computer interface technologies have ushered in a new era in the restoration and rehabilitation of neurological functions. These technologies aim to enable individuals with disabling neurological conditions, particularly those outcomes of traumatic brain injuries (TBI), to interact with their environment, perform important tasks of daily living, and achieve personal goals. This article analyzes the basic principles, advantages, challenges, and prospects for the development of brain-computer interface (BCI) technologies from a neurorehabilitation perspective. It also examines the application of these technologies in clinical practice and proposes approaches to implementing BCI systems in patients with neurological conditions, including those with various sequelae of TBI.
