In this literature review, the authors note that today the problem of obesity has gone far beyond the scope of medicine and has acquired a social character. Today, surgical treatment of patients with morbid obesity, being the most effective way to combat obesity, especially against the background of metabolic disorders, requires a special approach, both in preoperative preparation and intra- and postoperative management. The authors note that there is a need for further improvement of treatment and diagnostic algorithms and methods of surgical treatment aimed at optimizing surgical tactics, which requires further research.
