The article discusses antiplatet therapy in elderly patients with ishemic heart disease and metabolic syndrome. Moreover, the clinical consequences of resistance are very serious: the risk of reinfarkt stroke, stent thrombosis and death may increase. The mechanism of action of the CYP2C19 slow allele gene on platelet activity and the risk of bleeding in clopigogrel pharmacotherapy are discusses.
