The article provides a comparative examination of the formation, structural models, and semantic features of cybersecurity terminology in English and Uzbek. A corpus of 120 terms selected from NIST, ISO/IEC, ENISA, MITRE, and Uzbek regulatory and scholarly sources was analyzed using descriptive, componential, comparative-typological, and quantitative methods. Compound terms dominate in English, while multiword explanatory equivalents are more frequent in Uzbek. Borrowing, calquing, hybrid formation, descriptive translation, and the retention of international abbreviations are identified as the main transfer mechanisms. The study proposes precision, monosemy, systemic compatibility, brevity, and professional usage as key criteria for standardizing Uzbek cybersecurity terms.
