This article provides a comparative and contrastive analysis of phraseological units in English and Uzbek, exploring their close connection with the national culture, history, traditions, and mentality of both peoples. Based on a linguocultural approach, the lexical and semantic features of culturally marked idioms are identified. Furthermore, the paper thoroughly analyzes the challenges arising in the process of translating culture-specific phraseological units from one language into another and outlines the most effective methods and translation transformations for achieving translation adequacy.
