The article examines the theoretical and methodological aspects of using comics and graphic stories in the educational process. It clarifies the concepts of “comic,” “graphic novel,” and “polycode text,” and reveals their structural features and didactic potential. The study analyzes the psychological and pedagogical foundations of learning visualization, as well as the experience of developed countries in using comics and graphic stories to increase young people’s interest in reading. The article presents comics as a means of studying Russian literature within the system of secondary specialized and higher education.
