This article examines the pragmatic functions of elliptical sentences in dialogic speech and the challenges associated with their translation between English and Uzbek. The study focuses on the illocutionary force of elliptical constructions, translation strategies, issues of pragmatic equivalence, and the influence of cultural context on the translation process. The article discusses the main strategies used in translating elliptical sentences, analyzes common translation errors, and proposes effective approaches to achieving accurate and pragmatically appropriate translations. The research is based on a comparative analysis of samples of dialogic speech in English and Uzbek.
