This article examines modern mechanisms for assessing students’ knowledge within the framework of the competency-based approach. In the context of ongoing educational transformation, the strengths and limitations of traditional assessment methods are analyzed, while particular attention is paid to assessment strategies aimed at identifying and developing learners’ competencies. The study highlights the role of formative and summative assessment, digital technologies, electronic learning platforms, and international assessment programs in measuring educational outcomes. The findings contribute to the development of scientific and practical recommendations for improving assessment processes in competency-oriented education.
