This article examines the positional variability and semantic modification of borrowed affixoids. Particular attention is paid to the functional characteristics of affixoids used as prefixoids and suffixoids in Russian and English, their derivational potential, and the processes of semantic development. The findings reveal that borrowed affixoids demonstrate high productivity in word formation and generate new semantic nuances through positional shifts. Furthermore, the semantic transformation of affixoids is considered one of the key factors strengthening their role within the derivational system of a language.
