This article develops a gradational model of epistemic force through metadiscursive means in scientific discourse. The study aims to determine how the epistemological intensity of theoretical constructions is formed hierarchically through a comparative analysis of English and Uzbek scientific texts. The results indicate that metadiscourse progressively organizes epistemic force, ranging from a zero level to a high degree of certainty. In English discourse, epistemic force is constructed in a more dynamic and flexible manner, whereas in Uzbek discourse it is formed in a more stable way, oriented toward maximum validation. The article proposes a three-level gradational model of epistemic force: the level of probability, the level of justification, and the level of institutional validation.
