This article examines emotion metaphors in Uzbek and English idioms through the framework of Conceptual Metaphor Theory. Since emotions are abstract psychological states, they are commonly expressed metaphorically by mapping them onto concrete physical, spatial, and bodily experiences. Idioms, as fixed phraseological units, provide rich material for identifying stable metaphorical patterns because they preserve traditional cultural images and collective experience. The study analyzes idioms related to basic emotions such as anger, fear, love, happiness, sadness, pride, and shame.
