This article analyzes substantive somatic phraseological units from morphological and syntactic perspectives. In a sentence, such phraseological units mainly function as nouns. As fixed syntactic constructions, they generally perform a nominal function. It was found that substantive phraseological units in the two languages have specific structural patterns, which are analyzed comparatively in this study.
