This article presents a comparative typological analysis of punctuation systems in Uzbek, Russian, and English. The study examines the semantic, syntactic, and pragmatic functions of punctuation marks and their role in shaping textual meaning. Based on material from the three languages, it is demonstrated that the main functions of punctuation—segmentation, delimitation, and emphasis—are universal in nature. The paper also discusses the linguocultural features of punctuation and its role in modern linguistics.
