Annotatsiya

This study investigates how derivational suffixes transform nouns, adjectives, adverbs, and numerals into verbs and simultaneously construct conceptual event frames in English and Karakalpak. Drawing on the principles of Frame Semantics, the research examines the typological differences between the analytic tendencies of English and the agglutinative nature of Karakalpak. Particular attention is given to the frames of causation, change of state, and instrumentality. The comparative analysis reveals that English tends to generate flexible and context-dependent frames, while Karakalpak produces highly transparent and morphologically motivated frames. The findings contribute to cognitive linguistics, morphological typology, and the understanding of verb semantics in under-researched Turkic languages [1;111].
