This article analyzes the role and importance of didactic materials in fostering reading motivation among primary school students from a scientific and pedagogical perspective. It highlights how new-generation textbooks, interactive assignments, and visual and textual materials used in the modern educational process contribute to developing students' interest in reading, independent thinking, and skills for working with books. Additionally, the article reveals the mechanisms for cultivating a sustained need for reading in students, based on the content, structure, and methodological features of these didactic materials.
