This article examines the theoretical and methodological foundations of corpus-based research on Uzbek child language. By comparing the international CHILDES framework with the Russian tradition of ontolinguistics, the author identifies the limitations of directly applying existing procedures to agglutinative Uzbek. The article proposes a multilayer annotation model, principles for calculating mean length of utterance in morphemes (MLU-m), and a new measure termed “affix chain depth.”
