This article examines the origins of demonology and angelology, their religious and mythological foundations, and their role in English literature. It analyzes the functions of demonological and angelological images in literary works, particularly their role in representing the dialectical relationship between good and evil. Special attention is given to the depiction of human psychology, spiritual crisis, and moral elevation through these images. The study concludes that demons and angels in English literature function not only as narrative elements but also as carriers of profound artistic and philosophical meaning.
