This article is devoted to a comprehensive study of the main characteristics and artistic elements of the campus novel in the works of the English writer David Lodge. The campus novel occupies a special place in English literature and reflects a number of themes, including the academic environment, the professional activities of professors and lecturers, scholarly competition, university culture, as well as social and cultural issues within the academic community. Within the framework of this research, the genre features of the campus novel, the depiction of the academic environment, the satirical style, intellectual discourse, the psychological portrayal of characters, and postmodern literary elements are analyzed on the basis of David Lodge’s novels Changing Places, Small World, and Nice Work. The results of the study demonstrate that David Lodge holds a significant position in the development of the campus novel genre, as he is among the writers who have enriched this genre with new artistic possibilities in the context of contemporary literature.
