This article addresses key issues in Uzbek linguistics, with particular focus on the verb-forming affix -la in the modern Uzbek literary language. The aim of the study is to examine the affix -la, its semantic functions, its combinability with lexical bases, and its specific linguistic features in contemporary Uzbek. Textbooks and teaching materials produced in the Uzbek language, in which the verb-forming affix -la and its derivatives are presented, serve as the illustrative material for the study.
