This article presents a comparative analysis of the formation, expression, and contextual differences of national identity through the detective literary genre, using examples from Central Asian and European detective stories. Due to its structural and motivic features, the detective genre is regarded as a literary form that reflects a society's social values, stereotypes, moral norms, and cultural memory across all its strata. The aim of the research is to determine the relationship between the concept of national identity and elements of the detective genre, and to comparatively analyze the mechanisms of their manifestation in literature. The article explores the theoretical discourse surrounding national identity through the approaches of literary textual studies and comparative analysis. This study serves as a conceptual and methodological contribution to the fields of national literary studies, genre studies, cultural studies, and comparative literature, and it illuminates the complex interplay between the global reach of literature and regional specificities.
