This article examines the pragmatic characteristics of speech acts, emphasizing their orientation toward achieving emotional impact on the addressee. It is shown that, depending on the communicative situation, the speaker selects linguistic means that ensure the realization of specific illocutionary effects. These effects manifest both in motivating the listener to perform a particular action and in establishing control over the course of interaction.
