It is well established that in linguistic examinations aimed at author identification, morphological analysis is of great importance, as it reflects the involuntary use of grammatical units in an individual’s speech activity. The primary focus of expert analysis was the use of verbs, nouns, adjectives, and other word classes, as well as the presence of identifying features in the use of specific grammatical forms. The study found that each author demonstrates unique and recurring tendencies in word formation and form selection, and it is argued that these characteristics may constitute an author’s “typological signature” (idiolect). In this process, the influence of genre, subject matter, and text length on morphological indicators was assessed. Among the methods employed, statistical analysis (calculating the relative frequency of grammatical forms) and contrastive analysis (based on comparing the morphological profiles of disputed texts) played a key role. It was concluded that the analysis of morphological units, when combined with lexical, syntactic, and stylistic analysis, enables the formation of a reliable evidentiary basis for author identification.
