This article analyzes the pedagogical potential of teaching physiology to medical students based on an integrated approach. It highlights the need to transition from the traditional discipline-based educational model to competency-based education and to connect physiological knowledge with clinical and practical activities. In addition, the content, structure, and assessment potential of Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) are examined. The article substantiates that the application of the EPA approach in physiology contributes to the development of students’ clinical thinking, independent decision-making, self-monitoring, and professional competencies. Pedagogical conditions and recommendations have been developed for adapting this approach to the context of higher medical education institutions in Uzbekistan.
