This article analyzes the criminological profile of crimes related to the illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and potent substances, the causes and conditions contributing to their commission, and current issues in their prevention. Furthermore, based on a study of national legislation, international experience, and contemporary threats, the authors develop scientific and practical proposals aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of preventing this type of crime.
