This article aims to reveal the criminological nature of domestic violence against minors, conduct a systematic analysis of the causes and conditions that contribute to its emergence, and substantiate ways to improve the legal and institutional mechanisms for its prevention. Within the scope of the study, the typical forms of domestic violence, its repetitive and latent character, and the criminogenic impact of sociocultural practices that lead to the acceptance of violence in the family environment as a “norm” are examined. The article also addresses contributing conditions such as economic hardship, migration-related factors, an authoritarian parenting style, and the complexity of family structure (large families, co-residence with relatives, the step-parent factor, and others). In addition, vulnerable groups and situations in which the risk of violence intensifies are identified, and the impact of violence on children’s rights, personal integrity, and mental health is assessed from a legal perspective. The article further analyzes the regulatory and legal foundations and institutional mechanisms of the child protection system, substantiating the need to strengthen interagency cooperation in implementing preventive measures, ensure early detection of violence, and enhance preventive interventions. The study’s methodological framework includes the dialectical method, analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, comparative-legal and normative-legal methods, as well as criminological analysis.
