This article examines the pedagogical integration of media literacy and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in the development of intercultural competence among future translators studying at language universities. Building on theoretical foundations from translation studies, media literacy, intercultural communication, and educational technology, the study outlines a competency-based framework that synthesizes critical media practices with AI-enhanced tools (e.g., intelligent corpora, MT post-editing platforms, multimodal corpus analysis). The article analyzes domestic and international scholarship, proposes a curriculum model with learning outcomes and classroom activities, and evaluates potential benefits and ethical challenges. Recommendations for teacher training, assessment strategies, and institutional policy are offered to support sustainable implementation. Implications for translator identity and professional standards are discussed.
