Annotatsiya

The article analyzes the constitutional and legal nature of human dignity and the provision of a decent standard of living in the context of a welfare state. It examines theoretical approaches to understanding the concept of “decent existence” as a constitutional value that encompasses not only material living conditions but also guarantees of social protection, equal opportunities, and respect for human dignity. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the norms of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan that establish the social orientation of state policy, ensure the rights to labor, education, and healthcare, and provide support for vulnerable groups of the population. It is demonstrated that constitutional recognition of the welfare state entails active obligations on the part of the state to create conditions for the comprehensive development of the individual. In conclusion, the article addresses the challenges associated with implementing the principle of a decent existence and outlines possible directions for improving the legal mechanisms for its realization.
