This article analyzes the concept of social rehabilitation and adaptation of persons released from penitentiary institutions, examining the experience of selected foreign countries and the application of relevant legal norms. In addition, existing challenges in social rehabilitation and adaptation activities for this category of individuals are identified, and proposals and recommendations for addressing these issues are presented.
