This article, based on scholarly analysis, examines the role of the dehkans and the clergy as secular and religious social strata in Sogdian society during the Early Middle Ages. It reveals the features of social stratification in Sogdian society, analyzes the characteristic traits of individual social groups, and provides a scientifically grounded analysis of socially significant titles and offices that functioned within Sogdian society.
