This article sheds light on the essence, content, and role of civil society institutions in the life of society. Civil society institutions are analyzed as an important factor in ensuring democratic values, as well as human rights and freedoms, through citizens’ self-government bodies, political parties, non-governmental non-profit organizations, public associations, and other social organizations. The role of these institutions in increasing the social activity of the population, enhancing legal and political culture, and ensuring a balance of interests in society is also examined. The article further substantiates the need to strengthen the legal status of civil society institutions in the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
